I just started having these migraines and they hurt really badly! My eyes are totally effected and since I can't see out of one, I am unable to do anything if it affects my good eye. When I go to speak it's like I know the word but I can't say it and I try to say it but just get really angry because it won't come out of my mouth! I do have terrible eye sight but my eye sight has always been a problem and this just started maybe about two years ago at the age of 14, but never as intense as last weekend! They happen Bout twice. Year and I try to sleep it off, but the vision is getting worse!

When I was younger I would get shimmering light vision before a bad migraine. Now I'm in my 50's and every once in awhile I get the shimmering light blindness - - - but never knew that it was called a visual migraine until reading this article. Very imformative!

I have had these symptoms for the last 25 years (65 now). On average, I have 3 attacks over 2 days, every other month. There appears to be no recognisable trigger, and it has occurred during sleep. The shimmering starts as a small area in the centre of vision and moves to the periphery of the eye. It can be 'C' shaped or reverse 'C' shape. Afterwards I can experience a headache for a couple of days - but only if I cough!

The symptoms above are exactly what I am experiencing.
My concern is that the symptoms seem to be increasing in frequency over time. I have begun to chart the events to see if there is any correlation. I have also begun to note which eye it is occuring in. With the increase in frequency, should I be concerened that these events are part of a bigger problem?
